We thank you for appreciating CITI/Rentapriest’s work in promoting the availability of married priests for those whose spiritual needs have been ignored or neglected. We can conservatively say that we have assisted well over a half million people who would have otherwise gone without such pastoral assistance simply because of the rules and regulations of the church.

In 2010, we have virtualized the sacramental registry so that permanent records can be kept of the Rentapriest ministerial activity by priests. People will now have access to these documents through our administrative offices if they cannot find their own records.

Through this link to YouTube.com or Vimeo.com, you can now watch many of the television interviews and documentaries featuring Rentapriest that have been produced since as early as our 60 Minutes segment with Mike Wallace in January of 1995. Financial supporters of CITI/Rentapriest have made this important archiving possible. It is a brand new initiative, so every few weeks you will be able to view more on our own “channel” on YouTube.com and Vimeo.com (for the longer pieces).

As we contemplate our immediate future plans for CITI/Rentapriest, we are envisioning

• An online newsletter with a new format (sign up here).
• Focus group sessions to find out what else married priests can do to fill spiritual voids. These usually lead to CITI Spiritual Forums and House Churches. Contact us if you would like to help coordinate one in your area.
• The story of Rentapriest continuing to be told at www.rentaprieststory.blogspot.com.
• Historical documents and achievements of CITI to be scanned and archived in a public accessible library.

Like other nonprofit organizations, CITI has struggled because of the economy, which has affected our financial base. The Catholic hierarchy would love for us to disappear. Their typical attitude, “If we wait long enough, Rentapriest will go away.” We want to continue to be here when nursing homes, hospitals or funeral homes call because they cannot find a priest. We want to be here for the people like you who may need spiritual assistance. And we need to continue recruiting priests for Rentapriest.com.
