The Rev. Robert J. Fagan was ordained in 1975 and served as a parish priest in the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington until 1987. Additionally, Bob served as a chaplain in the Army Reserve and the D.C. National Guard. He now holds ministerial standing with the International Council of Community Churches and continues an inclusive ministry with CITI Ministries (Rent-a-Priest) serving the unchurched, with particular focus on alienated and disenfranchised Catholics. Bob regularly celebrates Eucharist with the Dignity-DC and Dignity-NoVA faith communities and has an active wedding ministry.
After transitioning from the rectory to the “private sector”, Bob served as an ethics official with the Department of Labor (MSHA) and the Food and Drug Administration. Currently, Bob serves as the Ethics Program Manager for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). He administers the Corporate-wide ethics program and provides liaison to Congress, the White House, the U.S. Office of Government Ethics and other Federal agencies for ethics matters. Under his stewardship the FDIC Ethics Program continues to receive numerous awards for outstanding achievement. In 2001, Bob was name-requested by the Office of Counsel to the President and served on detail as a White House Ethics Advisor.
Bob received a BA from Mt. St. Mary's University in Maryland and graduated with honors from St. Vincent de Paul Seminary in Boynton Beach, Florida, earning a Master of Divinity degree.
Married in 1989, Bob and Bobbie have two daughters, Frances and Elizabeth, and three fabulous grandchildren, Laura, Jack and Ava. Bob and his family live in Annapolis, Maryland.
